Travel Tip Tuesday #3

#3 Take advantage of the free ice water available at all quick service restaurants.

Regardless of the time of year you visit the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida or Disneyland Resort in California the heat can quickly dehydrate you during your vacation. Besides the hot temperatures you are also walking potentially several miles throughout your day. It is important to stay hydrated while visiting the parks so that you can avoid heat exhaustion, dehydration and other potentially vacation-ruining conditions.

We suggest that you bring a reusable water bottle with you in your park bag. When it needs to be refilled take advantage of the free ice water that is available at any of the quick service food spots. These are located throughout the parks. All you have to do is go to the counter and ask for water. This tip can save you plenty of money on water during your trip. Bottled water at food stands or kiosks can cost around $3 per bottle. We suggest getting ice waters and using them to refill your water bottles. There are also water fountains near bathrooms and in the middle of some rides that have longer wait times like Splash Mountain.

We also suggest that you get a water bottle that has a filter on it if you can. We have found that the water in Florida does not taste very good, but when filtered it helps. Also, if you are refilling at water fountains, who knows if the water has been filtered.
